Cerimónia Maya

Estas fotos são de um espectáculo que recria uma cerimónia Maya, que marcava a passagem do século, que segundo o calendário Maya era de 52 anos.
This was a Maya ceremony, which mark the turn of century. According to the Mayan calendar it was 52 years long.

Voadores de Papantla
|

Estes homens recriam uma antiga cerimonia Maya dedicada ao Deus Sol para terem boas colheitas e fertilidade. Este espectaculo realiza-se no parque tematico de Xcaret. Sobem a um tronco com 30m de altura orientado pelos pontos cardiais e descem em circulos pendurados pelos pes tantas voltas quantas tinha o calendario Maya.
"Four bird men of Totonacan blood will descend from the top of the universal tree, doing circles in the air. 30 meters above ground the leader dances and plays pre-Hispanic instruments.
These are the Papantla flyers worshipping the sun god. This impressive show of courage and faith of the Papantla fliers at Xcaret is an ancient ceremony which originated in the state of Veracruz in the Gulf of Mexico to ask for a good harvest and fertility.
The fliers, representing the four elements and the four cardinal points, go up a 30 meter pole and tied by their waist jump head first into the air with their arms open. The fliers make their way down each going around the pole exactly 13 times which amounts to the number of months in the Mayan calendar."

No caminho para Chichen Itza passamos por Valladolid.
Nesta pequena cidade ainda se pode ver alguma arquitectura colonial, bem como um pouco da atmosfera do verdadeiro México.
E muito interessante.
On the way to Chichen Itza we stoped in Valladolid.
In this small town we can yet see some colonial architecture, and get a glimpse of the real Mexico.
It's very interesting.

Na Lua-de-Mel realizei um dos sonhos da minha vida: visitar Chichen Itza. 
Esta cidade situada em plena selva, é um lugar extraordinário, cheio de história e magia.
Era uma cidade principalmente religiosa para o povo Maya, chegando a ser a mais poderosa com cerca de 40.000 habitantes.
Mas o que nos impressiona mais é sem dúvida a grandiosidade da principal atração: a pirâmide de Kulkulcan.
On my honeymoon one of my dreams come true: to visit Chichen Itza.
This city in the midlle of the jungle, it's an extraordinary place, full of history and magic.
It was mainly a religious town for the Maya people, and became the most powerfull city with about 40.000 inhabitants.
But the most impressive it's "The pyramid": Kulkulcan.

Atravessado pelo Rio Ocreza, um dos afluentes do Tejo.
Encontram-se aí µmas pequenas formações rochosas que estrangulam a passagem do rio.
É um lugar muito bonito!
This valley is crossed by the Ocreza River, one of the Tagus River afluents.
There are little rocks squeezing the river's path.
This is a very beautiful place!

Forum Barcelona 2004

Um dia no Forum Barcelona 2004. Muito interessante. Faz-nos pensar como tratamos o nosso mundo. Além disso tem uma excelente arquitectura. É um espaço muito bonito.
Recomendo a visita! Se puderem não percam, termina em 26 de Setembro.
One day at the Forum. Very interesting. Make us wonder what are we doing to our world. Besides, it has an excellent arquitecture. A very lovely space.
